Captain Stragglybeard has lost his treasure!

It has been split into three and he needs the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to help him find it.
The first Scout to send an email to Joe or Jimmy with the completed tasks and where to find the Scout part of the treasure will win a prize!
And all who do the tasks and report where to find the treasure will get badge work ticked off … and have fun!


Here's what you need to do…

1. Take 10 minutes to dress up as a Pirate with items from around the house.

2. Plan to cook for the family tomorrow or Sunday night to help out. What 2 courses would they like you to cook?

3. Use the internet to find the following answers
A - The number of the pool ball that is solid maroon
B - The pattern on a dice for this number is known as a quincunx
C - The shirt number worn by the England Captain who lifted the Football World Cup in 1966
D - The number that occurs at a rate of 30% in a random list under Benford's Law
E - Known as "Doctor's Orders" as a Bingo call
F - Number of wine bottles in a Jeroboam

4. See if you can figure out what this code phrase says:

5. The Scouts Treasure on the Map below can be found at the grid reference found by getting the answers to task 3 and 4
print out the map and mark the point where the treasure is with an X

6. Prepare and send an email to Joe or to Jimmy that includes
- a picture of you in your pirate outfit
- telling us what you are going to cook and when
- using the answer you got for task 5, send a photo of your printed map with your X marking the spot


7. Finished points 1 to 7? Then say "I'm finished" and see if Mum or Dad have an ice cream for you!
