Captain Stragglybeard has lost his treasure!

It has been split into three and he needs the Beavers, Cubs and Scouts to help him find it.
The first Beaver to send an email to Joe with the tasks and where to find the Beaver part of the treasure will win a prize!
And all who do the tasks and report where to find the treasure will get the communicator badge … and have fun!


Here's what you need to do…

1. Take 10 minutes to dress up as a Pirate with items from around the house.

2. Use Mum or Dad's phone to phone a family member not in your house (Grandma or Grandpa or Aunt or Uncle for example).
Ask them how they are and then ask them if they know what a Spanish Gold Coin much stolen by Pirates is called.

3. Learn Mum or Dad's phone number so you can say it from memory.

4. See if you can figure out what this code phrase says:
3,1,16,20,1,9,14/19,20,18,1,7,7,12,25,2,5,1,18,4/9,19/1,3,20,21,1,12,12,25/10,15,5
Your clue is 16,9,18,1,20,5 = PIRATE

5. Create a code yourself and prepare a message telling us your pirate name.

6. With Mum or Dad prepare and send an email to Joe or to Rabbit that includes
- a picture of you in your pirate outfit
- telling us who has the phone number you learnt (you don't need to tell us the number)
- what the code phrase in number 4 says
- send the code phrase (and clue!) that tells us your pirate name
- using the answer you got for task 2, where on the treasure map below is Captain Stragglybeard's treasure hidden?


7. Finished points 1 to 6? Then say "I'm finished" and see if Mum or Dad have an ice cream for you!
